Preface
Sometimes it could be frustrating when you are trying to find something and Telstra tells you:
After doing some research, Telstra is using DNS to block those websites that have copyright issues. It is a pretty weak to block a website in this way and the users can bypass it easily.
In this post, I will show you how to bypass Telstra’s block so you can visit your desired website without a headache.
Environments
- MacOS Ventura 13.6.1
- Chrome Version 119.0.6045.123 (x86_64)
Steps
Open System Settings, choose Network -> Ethernet if you are using a wired connection or Wi-Fi if you are using wireless.
Click on Details and choose DNS
Click
+
to add a new DNS serverHere we are using a Google free DNS server which is 8.8.8.8 or you can use your preferred DNS server like CloudFlare 1.1.1.1. Edit your existing DNS server to Google DNS server.
Click OK to save
Now you should be able to see your DNS Servers have already changed to 8.8.8.8 which is Google free DNS server. By now, you have successfully bypassed Telstra’s DNS block and be able to visit your desired website.
